my phone wont keep a charge so I got a new one but I need to save my pics to sd card. how do I do that

Plug your phone into your computer, (for both power and data connection). Then either move your photos to your sd card or use the file structure to copy them to your computer they way you'd copy photos from a usb drive.

Erin,
I'm not the OP,
when I plug my Tablet (not phone) (ICS 4.0.4) into my Win7 PC... It does not show up in Windows Explorer. The USB eject button (in the lower right tray) doesn't appear unless I have another USB device plugged into the PC. Under the tablets Settings>Developer Options>USB debugging is checked. Now with a USB thumb drive plugged into the PC, the Eject USB will list the thumb drive and Eject Android with Removable Disks J: and K: But Windows Explorer still doesn't show anything other than the C: drive, the thumb drive and network. i.e. no J: or K: Eclipse was able to load the Hello World app to the tablet.
Also, what do I need to do to "use" the SD card I've plugged in? Are there directories or files I need to write on it (with a PC) before I plug it into the Android?

Thanks in Advance

Hi all

I think the original OP wants to save pics on his/her old phone to sd card so they can be moved to the new phone.

Easy way is to use a file manager app (MyFiles if samsung is pre installed) such as ES file explorer from playstore to copy and past the pics from the phone (usually a folder called DCIM) to the sd card. Just like using windows explorer.

To TheZuke

Re your SD card, put the card in the tablet. Format it with the tablet - settings - storage-format sdcard. Now open an app that creates files eg camera and change the default storage location to sdard (or external storage); The app will create a folder on the sd card and store future files there. Most apps, not just camera, do this.

Re connecting to your PC, you dont say exactly what your device it is, but some require windows drivers to be installed on the PC before they show up in file explorer.

Hope this helps
Roger
