SD Cards and you.

I have found that some of the best prices on Flash Memory like this is Newegg.com.

For instance, the Transcend 8gb class 6 mentioned above is also $19.99. The 16 gb CL6 was like $65. And their shipping is phenomenal. Very fast.

I ditched the 2gb an went with my SanDisk 8gb MicroSDHC that i have used in my HTC Mogul, Touch Pro, and BlackBerry 8330.

Im guessing that its a class 2 but am not totally sure, there is a 2 with what looks like a C around it.

So whats the verdict? Higher class = faster at opening music/pictures on the Hero?

Not for me. It seems painfully slow to open the Photo Album. I do have a 20 sec video clip on it, but can't imagine that would slow down an 8GB class 6 card that drastically. I have stopped using Advanced Task Killer and have left all open Apps self regulate. Maybe that's the issue.

Yea, I mean especially if some people (like me) are planning on dump hundreds/thousands of mp3's onto the microSD card to use the Hero as a replacement for an iPod. 20 second video clip would be nothing compared to that...

I have an 8GB, class 2 i believe, with one movie, and about 40 music albums complete with album art. plus about 100 wallpapers of various sizes and resolutions, and 50 or so pics taken with the camera set on 1M. I dont find mine to be painfully slow. ill agree its slower than it should be, but not that bad, imo....
