Help SD Memory problem

Hi,

New to the sight and was wondering if somebody could give me some assistance

I have recently purchased a Galaxy ace and have completely stock reset it.

If i go to settings > SD Card and phone storage

under the SD card it says total space 1.84 gb. Available space 1.77gb

Now i want to transfer some music

I open up kies and it says there is not enough free space available when i open up the sd card and try to transfer files to the download folder

I am really confused

Complete novice

Any help would be massively appriciated

Thanks

steve

what happens when you try to transfer the files?? were you able to transfer all your files or songs?

if i press the transfer to device button on kies it says "not enough storage space" "check the amount of space available and try again" if on kies i view in explorer the external memory and try to drag music to the download folder it says "the disc in the destination drive is full" "insert a new disk to continue".

On windows xp if i go to my computer i can see the e drive there, however if i right click it and go to properties it says 0 free space

however as i mentioned above android reads the card as having 1.7gb free. I have never put anything on it

confussed at the moment

thanks again
