SD Micro card not registering

Hi there, use my tablet for watching media and the like. Moved a media file onto the SD card yesterday and when I went to view it, the Tablet would not acknowledge card. Took card out and put it in my card reader and connected it to my laptop. Laptop does not acknowledge either.

Is there a fix? Humour me as I'm new to this.

If both the laptop and the tablet doesn't detect the card, it sounds like the card is dead. How exactly did you transfer the media file?

By putting the micro card into a usb card reader.

How did you remove it? Did you safely remove it and all that?

yeah i did the correct procedure. using eject etc.
