Help SD Storage Problem

Lurker
I got this phone yesterday and put in a 16g Micro SD card. However, it won't let me move any apps over and none of my apps are able to store data on the SD card. It lists an internal directory as sdcard and the the actual SD as extsdcard but only has folders called LOST,DIR and DCIM (the camera is the only app that will save to it so far). Is this supposed to happen or is there some way I can move my apps (and other data like Flixster movies and music especially) to the SD card? I'm not above going back and rooting if necessary, though it already updated to Jelly Bean, so I'm not sure if that's an issue.

You can't officially move apps to a SD card. You can store music and such on it though.
If you want to go ahead and try directory bind here is a tutorial (tutorial is for the s3 but works for the stellar as well ).

Ok, thanks! That's what I thought I'd have to do. It's giving me a lot of trouble trying to root though. I'm following these steps but it won't work. It says failure to copy for several files as it's running in the command prompt. It installed SuperSU but it says that there are no binaries available. It installed Superuser as well but I'm not sure what to do with it. Any tips? I only got it yesterday so I tried restoring factory settings, but that didn't help much.

You should have rooted before you updated and used ota rootkeeper. You're gonna have to downgrade to ICS or use billards tool.
