SD / USB storage problems

Hi,

I have one of these,

Star_Note_II_N9770_5_1_inch_Android_4_0_3_1GHz

I am baffled by the storage settings.. when I try to download a file, the browser says, 'insufficient memory' but I thought I had it set to default to 16GB SD??

In 'storage' options, there are two options: USB storage;or SD Card, I have selected 'SD Card'

then beneath that a bar that shows 'internal storage'. What is that? SD or 'USB'? it is less than half full at 503MB. so I guess it is a third storage.

Below that is 'USB' storage which says Total space 2.00GB and has a bar showing about half full

Beneath that is 'SD Card' Total space 14.83GB; available 8.32GB

So, my questions are:

1. All of these show space, so why does my browser think it is full (I can't tell it where to dowload to)
2. If my default write disk is 'SD Card' why is it not storing apps to it? Can it do this, I thought android could now???
3. What does android mean in the option 'default write disk' when it says USB storage or SD Card?? By SD does it actually mean the 'internal' storage?

As you can tell I am VERY confused. Why can't it just have RAM and ROM like the good old days.. lol

Thanks.

Hello tallnutt! Welcome to AF:)
I'll try to answer these questions for you. Granted I am not familiar with your device, I can do my best:p
I say that the internal storage would be the USB storage and the sd card is your external card.
Now, as far as the browser suggesting that you have insufficient memory, from what you have posted, it looks like you have plenty. What size file are you trying to download? What happens if you use a different browser to download the same file?
And as far as the "default write disk", I would assume what ever downloads you decide to download, you can choose the default location...either internal (USB) or external (SD).
