I am trying to figure out how to up date my phones dictionary so that it doesn't keep mis-spelling words and just puts in the one I want.

Hi Sean Magee and welcome to the forums!

I don't actually OWN an Optik, but an Android function is to long-press the word in the text and select "Add to Dictionary". Try that and see if it helps
