"Search App"

So i tried looking for this over on multiple forums and threads and could not find anything. Attached is a picture with the icon. It says "search app" and i clearly have no idea how it got there. I did not download anything new and i have not been using my tablet for anything besides netflix these past few months and Snote (for notes in class). I checked in applications and nothing is to be found regarding this. Everytime i delete it from the home page it comes back but it cannot be found in the application page so it is clearly a shorcut for something but i am just not sure what it is for. can anyone weigh in?

Edit: apparently since i am a new user i cannot put links or images. So i will describe it to you. It is blue and circular with a outline of a magnifying glass in white in the middle. It is labeled "Search app". when i open it, it ask to open with internet, chrome, firefox and photon browser and when i open it with any browser, it brings me to a page where it says to install mobogenie market and castle clash. the url is ad-monster . org / ads / appwall _ noincent _ html? Source = icon.

I provided the url with spaces for what the search app brings me to as a reference to my problem.

Before you read what I link, don't install mobogenie as it really bothers a lot of folks that install it and want it gone.

That done, it sounds like you have something installed that is using airpush or other questionable advertising tactics. It may be an app that you've had for a long time that updated or otherwise started using these tactics.

This thread (http://androidforums.com/android-ap...s-unwanted-shortcuts-browsers-redirected.html) will both explain how they work, offer tools to determine what app is acting up, and explain how to removed them.

PS, I'm going to move this to the Applications forum as it is not a problem specific to your Note. More eyes means more help.
