Help Search apps crash com.motorola.home ???

When I click apps key (black box on home tray); then search key com.motorolla.home crashes. This is reproducable as in everytime I try to search the app list it happens.

Does this happen to everyone ?
 
Mine RAZR is crashing when I try to search apps too... In the same way yours. And I didn't find what could causing this... Anyone knows what could be?

Here is the log, when the process com.motorola.home crashed, I founded only one weird line, in red:

Curious where you obtained that log; I tried looking at dmesg but less and more are not installed and I didn't notice anything obvious (using connectbot; not sdk). Hum. That log doesn't seem to have anything interesting but there might be other logs ?
 
Known issue. Maybe they will fix it with ICS. I only used it once when someone else mentioned it, probably because my app drawer is not that big (6 pages) where I would need to search for something by name, but in that event I would just use the voice search anyway, I have a shortcut on my main desktop I click then say [go to (app name)] and the app starts up. Probably low on the priority list of fixes for moto.
 
I might be wrong but I think it was new with the firmware update; I swear when I first got the phone this was a non-issue.

I'm not having it happen for me yet. I never really noticed this before when I got my phone, and I just updated to the leak today.

You mean when you open the app drawer and use the search key, it crashes?

Then when I uninstalled it. It stopped doing that, try that to see if it works.

Aahh...I never updated it. I rarely update most of my apps for some strange reason...lol.

Excellent Hobo3000! Since this won't be the solution (Moto must fix that, I think), the workaround worked! My Google Search app was in the latest version (1.3.3.247963), and the problem occurs. I went to Market, My Applications, Google Search, and Uninstalled (this rollbacks to previous version of app), and the search of applications worked back!!!

Thanks for the workaround Hobo3000, it worked for me.

No problem, was quite angry when I had it, was ready to blame it on the new update.

Yeah I have this habit of updating everything...
