Help Search box won't drop

Here's the android newbie with the first of probably many questions !

I've had the s3 for almost 24 hours and wow is it taking some getting used to. ( I've been using jb iphones for the last 3 and a half years. )

One thing I haven't sussed out yet is why when I'm on a forum the drop-down "search this forum" box won't drop down. It's probably something painfully obvious to you guys but it's got me stumped :o

I use Maxthon web browser on both my ICS tablet and Gingerbread based S2 and neither gives me this issue. I just tried them, in fact. I have never used the Samsung stock browser, so if you are using that, maybe you have a setting that's not enabled to allow this??
 
I've tried different browsers but it's still not working. I've also gone through the settings to see if something needs switching on or off but I couldn't find anything to do with it.

I've had a play with my phone and I've managed to stop the drop down boxes from working on mine so hopefully this will fix it. If you haven't already downloaded adobe flash from the play store, download it. Then in Dolphin settings go to web content and make sure flash player and Javascript are turned on.
 
Ok I tried that and it now works on some forums but still not this one. I'm getting so frustrated with this phone :( I will be honest, I don't know if I'm going to keep it. I'm starting to think the iphone 4s might be better, I know my way round jailbroken Iphone's.
 
I use Chrome and the dropdown boxes work fine. You mean the boxes that drop down when you click on "New Posts" "Search" and "Quick Links" right?

No, the one at the top right of a sub-forum, the one to search that forum only.
 
I get you. If i click on that it drops down but if i try to enter text in the box it disappears. The advanced link under the text box works though.
