I have no idea how this happened but whenever I press the search key or the settings key (the 1st key that has 2 squares on it) it activates my camera.. this makes it VERY hard to change the settings of certain apps because it automatically closes the app I'm trying to configure and opens up my camera.. any idea how I can this back? I'm fairly new I've only had my phone for a couple of days.

If you only have had it a couple days, are unrooted and don't mind a total reset, you can do a factory reset on the phone.
Do not do this if you have rooted your phone. If you have any SMS you want to save there are a couple apps you can get to do so. I use GO SMS, not only does it do a backup but you can email the backup as well.

Did you by chance install a button mapper and accidentally remap those keys to your camera?
