"Search On Server" and "Contact Sync" with Yahoo and Stock Email App

There's two ways you can add a Yahoo mail account to the stock email app. Either with the Premium Account check box checked or unchecked.

With the Premium check box checked, you can access the 'Contact Sync' functionality.

With the Premium check box un-checked, you can access the 'Continue Searching on Server' functionality when searching your inbox.

These two pieces of functionality seem to be mutually exclusive. Does anyone know how I can use Yahoo with the stock app and access both types of functionality I.e. 'Contact Sync' and 'Continue Searching on Server'?

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

P.S. I don't want to use the Yahoo! Mail app as it sucks.

So I'm guessing this can't be done.

Android really needs an email app as good as the iPhones. I've tried everything out there but they all have their limitations. This lack of a decent email app is the one thing that lets the over-wise brilliant S2 down for me.
