Searchable Text Files

I need some help finding a way to put text files (preferably PDFs) onto my Droid and have the contents of those devices be searchable. I'm thinking this can be done with some combination of apps, but I'm not sure which. Dropbox seemed like an easy way to get the files on, but I wasn't sure about the search. Any ideas?
 
Put the file contents into an evernote notebook on your PC, then sync to evernote on your phone. Evernote makes all contents (even text on images) searchable.
 
Thanks for the quick response. That looks like it will work, except I think I'd need some of the premium features which cost $45/year. I wouldn't mind buying an app if it's a one time thing, but that seems a bit expensive. Can you think of any free alternatives?
