Searching contacts from multiple accounts

[lucusloc]

I am having a problem with my contacts on my android (2.3.6)

I have 3 accounts linked to the phone:

google a
google b
exchange

google a is the main account on the phone, and is primarily a spam trap

google b and exchange hold personal and business contacts, respectively.

I can view all 3 just fine from my contacts list, and can filter and search from here with no problems.

I cannot search contacts from the second google account or from exchange from the sms address field (or anywhere else on the phone for that matter). When I want to send an sms to just one person that is not an issue, as I can just find the contact in my contact list and start an sms from there. When I want to send a text to multiple people at a time, however, it becomes annoying, as I have to go into the contacts list and copy individual phone numbers.

does anyone know of an app that will let me use all of my contact lists, and does google have any plans to fix this rather glaring oversight? I find it frustrating that my contact list will actualy show all my contacts from all my accounts like I want it to and it will search and filter just fine, but the rest of the phone is completely oblivious.

no one has any ideas? surly this is a common enough problem that someone has found a solution. . .
