Security settings

I decided to set the security settings in my phone:

Settings > Location and Security > Remote functions.....

I don't remember ever setting this, but when I put my email address in, it said the account already exists. But evidently I've forgotten my password as I've tried twice with passwords I "thought" I may have used. I'm reluctant to try a third as sometimes three unsuccessful attempts shuts down the system. Also, I can't see any of the "Forgot your password?" type prompts so I'm really stuck.

Does anyone know how to get a prompt to receive it by email? Or am I better off to forget it and re-register with a different email address and start over?

Thanks.

I forgot to ask..... is there a way to require a password when the phone is turned on (power on) but NOT every time the screen saver comes on?
