Root Seems like no one has this phone

So I've been trying to find an easy way to root my defy that I bought and came with 2.2.1 update already on it stock. I need to know how to root this phone, I want to get all that bloatware off of it. I've searched here and xda, found a couple ways to do it but they all refer to 2.1, before froyo came out. I've found one referring to super one click, but I don't know which version to download for my phone, and the instructions are a little confusing. Parts of it say enable usb debugging, then at other parts you disable it and then re-enable it again, while you are doing all the installation from pc. I don't see how you can enable/disable usb debugging while you are performing tasks to the phone from the computer. Any help would be awesome, maybe a link to a video of someone doing it with 2.2.1. And if anyone knows, can I just download clockwork mod recovery and make a recovery or do I need anything special. I used to have an LG ally which I rooted myself with z4root, which was the easiest thing ever. Then I installed clockwork, made a custom recovery with it and then installed roms and such without a problem. Anytime I bootlooped and needed to recover I had no problems. Also recovery mode is so weird on this phone. How the hell do I get to it. I just see an android with an exclamation, nothing more. If someone can help me with this I would be ecstatic.

superoneclick worked for me (sorry, I can't see which version it is, I *think* it is the one for 2.51).

If it's the first time your PC recognizes the phone then you need to connect in boot loader first (power + vol up). This is so your PC will get all the drivers off it. After that, you can reboot the phone while connected & try rooting:

Provided your PC has already got the motorola drivers installed, just connect to PC, wait for it to recognize phone / drivers then open superoneclick. Yeah I got confused with the USB debugging but could toggle this in settings while it was connected, so you can keep trying. I think the main thing is to wait while the PC fully recognizes it, then root. I do seem to remember USB debugging being off first, then ON when I click root "waiting for device" (as you said, above).

When you get in stock recovery (android triangle) press both volume keys same time. Use the vol keys to scroll, the power key to select.

Oh & I had to download Busybox off the market, as this version didn't do that for me. I suggest also downloading rootchecker, install Busybox then in rootchecker you can see if root & busybox are installed.
