Accessories Seidio Innocase Rugged Review

The nice people over at Seidio decided to send me an Innocase Rugged for me to review, but I'll still try to be as unbiased as possible. :)

First Impressions:
When I first got the case, I took it out of the packaging and the first thing I noticed was the weight. It was really heavy (later I realized that half the weight was the holster), but I really don't mind the added weight considering the amount of protection it provides.

Besides the weight, it does add a good amount of bulk, but one of the things I love about this case is that you don't have to use the full case. If you're not going to need as much protection, you can use the Innocase II Surface independently, which is significantly thinner and lighter. If you'll need more protection, you can put on the Rugged set-up, which covers all the ports, buttons, and even the camera. It's essentially two cases in one! You get more bang for your buck :)

Innocase II Surface:
I love the look and feel of the Innocase II Surface. It has a very grippy feel to it, yet it's still smooth. It does seems to attract smears though, so I

This is the case I am considering, I guess it is a toss up between this and the Otterbox. Being that this is my first smartphone, I am not sure how klutzy I will be with it, and would rather be safe than sorry. I also don't like the way the port covers are designed, but I love the camera protector! Any more feedback now that you have had this longer? I was also considering just getting the Active x or Active case, it's just that the camera cover is a big draw...

I was looking at this case, but I am glad that I got the innocase active instead of this one. The bottom of this one looks annoying.

I know what you mean, but if they were a real PITA, I wonder if they can be snipped off? I really like the camera cover...Might be a selling point for me.

Well that's one of the things I really like about this case, if you don't need the bulk, you can take off the Rugged Skin and Skeleton and use just the Innocase Surface...except now it's not called Rugged, it's called Convert...anyway, I just use the Innocase Surface for my everyday life and then whenever I think I'll be doing something where I might need more protection or if I need the holster, I'll put on the Rugged (Convert) set-up. I went on their site the other day and noticed they had a new thing. They have all this, but you also get a holster for the Innocase Surface, and it's $10 more...

If you're not sure on what you'll need, you could buy the Innocase surface first, and then if you feel like you'll need more, then you can buy the Rugged (Convert) upgrade, but it costs more overall that way...

Also, you might just be able to cut a little more in between the port covers, but that might make it uglier...I'm looking at it right now, and it's hard to tell whether it would be okay if you cut them off. It might be a bit choppy. If somebody else did it first and posted pics, I'd be more likely to try it (I'm afraid to ruin my case haha).

I have read about a similar case, that the camera cover thing can wear out so that it doesn't stay locked in when open. Have you experienced this at all?

I am also looking at the Active case (Wondering what the difference is between Active and Active x...)

I haven't experienced that problem. I've only had the case for a few weeks now.
Also, I was wrong, the Rugged (Convert) Value pack, the one with two holsters (one for Innocase Surface and one for Rugged (Convert) set-up) is $20 more, not $10.

Also, I don't think there's a difference between Active and Active X...On their website I can only find Active...

Read this thread and ordered :D

This is exactly what I want because I work in a rugged environnment, but want to easily drop down to the slimmer case while not at work, thanks for the review!

Thanks for helping everyone out and reviewing our case! We appreciate it. To simplify things, it's just the ACTIVE now, before we used the X to differentiate between the different skeleton designs.
