Help Seidio innotraveler charging problem

I have the innotraveler and I have a problem with the slow charging of the unit. If I'm not running an app at all it will leave the battery where it is, but if I open an app it starts loosing power. I called Seidio and they said I would have to delete apps to get the phone to get the charger to work, because it is a slow charger! What a bunch of crud. Is there a way to use another cable and turn this in to a fast charger?
FYI I posted this to the accessories theread and got no response.

HTC chargers have bridged the data pins for rapid and high current charging.

I've the HTC car charger C200 which has a coiled cable with its data pins bridged too.

This cable I use with several generic chargers and they all charge my phone like the wall charger which came with the phone.

Update: I've seen it's a car kit, so the app is navigation, isn't it?
So maybe your charger charges high current but that isn't enough for power hungry navigation apps.

Have look at your Settings, Power, Battery state:
Charging (AC) means up to 1000mA current, = rapid charging, like the wall charger with came with your phone.
Charging (USB) means up to 500mA current, = slow charging.
