Help Select All to Delete Emails?

I have searched this site as well as globally and do not see the answer. Is there a 'select all' option in the stock email app? My last device (moto x) allowed you to select all to delete but this current version does not appear to have that option. Previous android devices also completely deleted emails when sent to the trash. The Turbo 'keeps' the deleted emails in the trash and must be deleted individually.

Thanks!

When you delete mail as it comes in the different folders it is sent to the Trash folder, all deletions go there and in the upper rh corner press dots and select Empty Trash. That's is permanent deletion.

Hi Smokie,

Thank you very much for your response. Unfortunately, on my device (droid turbo) the only possible menu option in the upper right hand corner is 'settings' and 'refresh', there is no menu choice for select all or delete.

Nope, there is no select all. The stock email app is not all that good. I recommend a different email app - K9 mail, free in the Play Store, is a good one, and I am fairly certain that it has "select all".

You are correct. Select all is the first option in the drop up menu list (3 vertical dots). Once selected, a trash can shows up so you can delete all.

My reply was based on assuming you have a G mail account, sorry for the wrong info I thought it was the stock email since I have never used anything else. :)

But do you have to delete those emails in the different folders individually? I see no other way myself.

Yes, you have to go to your different folders or labels and delete individually then they go to trash folder, that is the only place where pressing one button deletes all.

Other than getting a different email app, has anyone discovered a solution for this, to mark/delete all mail. I'm not talking about the GMail app.

Connect your phone by USB to PC and you will get a path like this:This PC\Aquaris E5\SD card\.Mail.
Here you can delete all. Its the only way I found.

Hello all. I'm new to this tablet stuff. But...just had an aha!! moment. trying to delete a whole bunch of emails in he trash folder...at once! Answer, select the first one, touch the select choice, and a window drops down with "select Al" as an option!! Boom! Done!

Also, in the account settings, you can choose in "incoming" to delete as soon as they leave the inbox. Bad if you want to back and read them, great if you just want to read and toss.

I would be very pleased to get this working. Can you be more specific about the location of the touch 'select choice' option as I was unable top reproduce/find your results.

Thanks!

The results will not be re-produceable - as mentioned, the other user has a tablet, not a Turbo, and the email app is slightly different.

With a Turbo, you must either use a third party app or not be able to select all.

I have a Kobo, and it works for me to click on the box at the left of the notice, click on the trashcan icon, then click on the box on the upper left, voila, the drop down box with the select all option appears. Click, you're done!
