Help Selective syncing of Facebook contacts to phone

Is there a way to selectively sync Facebook contacts to my phone? I have roughly 1000 Facebook "friends" but only 300 are really friends and family and the rest are mainly gaming friends for games like Mafia Wars, etc. and I don't want to sync those. I want the Facebook contacts who I personally know to show up when I use the contacts icon on the homescreen. I would like to sync them but I'm afraid it will import the list and I would have to manually delete them.

Yeah took me a second to figure it out.

1. Open contact app
2. Click on the person you want to sync up.
3.Click on Link contacts.
4. Click on add link contact at the bottom.
5. Click on Get friends.***
6. Click on Facebook and select the friend that you want to sync up with.

The thing is the name has to match up with the name in FB or it wont link together... It will create another entry for the FB contact.

***Your FB account should be there... If not heres the steps to add your facebook account.

1. Open contact app
2. Hit the settings key
3. Click on Account.
4. Add account.

your point 2. was for me (android 2.3.3 SE Xperia ray) click and hold the contact, then press "join contacts"

then, if the name in contacts and on facebook correlates to some extend, i get a positive suggestion and can link them... otherwise sadly not

for some reason there is no option 5. & 6. for me... it just proposes my phones contacts for linking... (if names dont collerate); a separate choosing for "get from somewhere else" is not there :/

any ideas on that? thanks in advance,
