Saw a mini-discussion pop up in another thread that was completely OT so I thought I'd start a thread. It's pretty much confirmed that Amazon will be releasing a tablet of some kind sometime in the next few months. Specs are all rumored.
Rumors
- Will run Android
- Might have two models - a dual core and a quad core
- Will not have a camera front or rear
- Will not be "blessed" by Google so won't have the Market and Google apps on it
- Might be subsidized by Amazon so might be significantly cheaper than the $399+ that most tablets are running
- Might replace the Kindle completely or it might not
Thoughts on any or all of these rumors? Did I miss any of them? I would love if Amazon put out a subsidized dual core tablet in the $200-$250 price range. I think it could potentially spark a big price war in the tablet market heading into the holiday system.
