Help "Send Notifications"?

Does anyone have any idea what an option of "send notifications" is in an email program? I am using AquaMail and I can't find out any information on this on a Google Search, or within AquaMail.

Usually means your device will emit a sound once the email is sent.

probably to send a notification to your phone, when you get a new email.

It turns out that it is a sound on send. It is a feeble one, too. Most of the time I have my phone muted, and I may never have had the option on, so I had no clue. Since the sound was basically useless, and I am usually muted, I unchecked it.

These things are simple, looking back, but I have to say that this place is a big help in getting information to arrive at a more speedy solution.
