Send Receive email notifications

Hey everyone,

I was hoping someone could help me to find a resolution to my problem

I simply want to have email notifications (i.e. any time mail has been received to notify me by sound)

However, when I turn on email sound notifications, I get a sound EVERYTIME the send receive updates, even when no mail has been received. So, if I apply the send receive settings to update every 5 minutes, I'll hear a noise every 5 minutes.

I'm thinking to myself, this is the thickest dumbest idea as I DONT care about hearing a noise everytime the update happens; only when I receive mail.

Can anyone help me? Is it possible to adjust the settings to receive a sound only when mail has been received and how would this be done

if u go into the mail app settings theres a notification menu u can enable for it to do that.
