Help send sms from call log

Does anyone know how I can send an sms to a missed, received or dialled number from the call log? It seems I can only send an sms to contacts or manually input the number......

u can easily send a message from call log also just touch the no. u want to send and it will give u options.Simple..

you can also press and hold the number u want to send a sms to and a popup menu will appear with several options, including send sms

I've tried this before, but the text always gets kicked back to me saying i need to enter the 10 digit number (it adds a 1 in front of everything). Any ideas?

Some cell phone carriers want you using the 10 digit number.

Are you able to send texts to 10 digit numbers....even though they are local?

Have you only tried using the default Messaging program?

Have you spoken with your local carrier to see if 10 digit dialling is recommended for their network?

I would do that next.
