Help Sense 4.0???

So, I know hardly anything about rooting. Not familiar with it very much at all. But I know HTC hasn't sent out an upgrade to Sense 4.0 for our phones obviously, so is it possible to root our Evo's and upgrade it to Sense 4.0 ourselves?

Also, is there a way, via rooting, to get rid of sense and use the stock ICS launcher? For some reason I don't believe the stock launcher was even included on our device

You don't have to root if you want something close to stock launcher. Apex launcher and Nova launcher on Google Play both are similar to the stock ICS launcher.

Yeah I currently use Go Launcher. I'm more interested in somehow upgrading my sense though. Is it possible?

HTC will not upgrade the EV4 to Sense 4.0. Sense 3.6 was created for phones that originally shipped with an OS prior to ICS; 4.0 is only for phones that were designed to run ICS (and have the three ICS bottons at the bottom instead of 4 buttons like the EV4).

As others have mentioned, while some people are porting Sense 4.0, some of the features will not work because the EV4 wasn't designed with those features.
 
Thanks for the info everyone! So if I use the custom ROM to get sense 4.0, are there any other negative effects it could have on my phone other than some.of the 4.0 features not working?
