Hey I'm new to android development and I'm implementing a simple localization method to get used to the device. I've been reading some articles and I can't seem to figure out how the phone figures out sensor accuracy. My guess is that it decides this based on how long its been since it was last calibrated. Thanks for any help!

Oh sorry, what I'm talking about is this accuracy variable stored for each sensor. From the description I would think that it estimates how much error has likely accumulated on the sensor since its last calibration based on how long its been. What I really want to know is whether or not the phone implements any sort of sensor fusion automatically.

The sensors I'm mostly concerned about are the gyroscope, accelerometer, and the magnetometer.

I think SensorManager is more like what your looking for? I was unable to find any way that you can manually re-set the calibration through code.
