the first time i flashed serendipity a couple weeks ago, i flashed 6.3, and it was very stable, i thought. i updated to 6.4 this morning, and i havent noticed anything unusual as of yet. if i come across any bugs or flaws, ill be sure to let ya know

yeah same here, just came out, so i figured there wont be much of a log about the bugs as of yet, so might as well update it and see how it goes. so far no problems tho

If you want to be careful, don't be an 'early adopter'. I always wait a bit and see what the comments are on either the Serendipity Q&A thread or the ROM thread when I'm going to flash a major step up. If I'm just going from 6.3-6.4 I pretty much trust Mikey and ChanceM and flash right away. I've been using their ROMs since early Assonance, I've never had a problem with any version.

I can assure you, 6.4 is solid, no issues whatsoever. The only thing that can go wrong is a bad download/flash, but I haven't heard anyone complaining of that.

Is anyone having problems with the power button shutting phone off and also not showing all the other goodies when you press it on 6.3?

What kernels do you all use with Serendipity? I flashed the 6.4 upgrade a few minutes ago. All of the basics seem fine thus far.

FLashed 6.4 a couple of days ago and its GREAT. I was using leaked 2.2 and issues with my corporate email account when they went to Exchange 10 SP 1. Serendipity was the fix. Going to flash my wifes phone over this upcoming weekend.

Super fast and super stable

I had an issue with the 3G/HSPDA speed using Serendipity with modem JL2. I've tried the Band Selection Secret code, and switched it to WCDMA *only* 850. It seems to help it by a lot. (Scroll down to see how to do it). A very useful tool for typing in these secret codes automatically is SGS Tools.

[Modems] - Q4 2010 & Q1 2011 (Froyo & Gingerbread) - WCDMA 850 enabled - xda-developers

Also I had an issue with my sensors getting randomly disabled (no compass, no accelerometer etc). I did a "factory reset" which fixed that issue though.

Can someone tell me why I can't put photos in the contacts with serendipity....you can't even edit much with this Rom =/ so lame

I flashed Serendipity 6.4 last week and have a few issues so far. This is my first ROM, so I don't know if this is common with flashing, or if it's isolated to this particular ROM:

- I frequently lose all network connectivity, whether it's WiFi or cellular. I have to reboot each time this happens, which is only a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless.
- My screen dims while using it. The backlighting dims, I mean, not that the screen is going blank/locking.
- My phone didn't ring this morning, nor did it show a missed call, which resulted in being fussed at by my ex-wife. I also didn't get the texts she sent until 3.5 hours later (all 6 rolled in at once; this may have been a network issue, though)

I flashed 6.4 and Paragon 6 last night. All has been good, but like you, I did miss one call and it was not listed in the missed calls log. Also, I am not sure if my alarm went off this morning or I just overslept .

Both sound as though system settings were restored - never restore system settings when you reinstall your apps and data.

I did do a backup prior to flashing, but I *didn't* do a restore once I had Serendipity installed. I just downloaded the apps I wanted and set them back up from scratch.
