I guess it's time to get back on trying to solve this problem of mine.
My old thread seems to have been forgotten. It seems to me that it isn't just a software issue but I haven't quite lost hope yet.

However, I still need help. If it's related, I also can't log into the Android Market since I only know about logging in with my gmail account and that hasn't worked. It just tells me that it can't connect now and I should try logging in another time. Any ideas?
