Help Serious sound problems

I searched the forum, but could not find a problem similar to mine.

I just started having sound problems. The ringer cuts out. When playing any type of media, it will play the first few seconds of it then go silent while the player is still running. All of my notification may or may not play, or will play slightly distorted. The volume is not set too high. And I have plenty of storage space on both phone and card.

I was thinking of resetting to factory default. If I do that will I have to reactivate the phone?

No you wont have to reactivate the phone....Try a Battery Pull - And try wiping cache - there are a few one click cache wipers on the market.

Thank you for the reply. I tried clearing the cache of all apps then pulled the battery. I got through one video. The second, the sound stopped about 3 seconds in.
