service messages

I keep getting service messages from airtel(india) about my gprs and talktime balance. some times when I get a call, there so many of these messages that by the time I hit ok on all of them, the call gets cut off. how do I disable this?

Hi,
Yes, you can disable them. Open sms, press menu button, Settings, scroll down to Cell broadcast (CB) settings, and disable the CB activation.

I too have the same problem and CB activation is off on my phone by default... how can i block this messages or at least disable the notification tone for the service messages..
