Phones do not have limiters nor do they effect charging. It can't possibly take longer to charge AND drain quicker. Sounds like you are leaving high-drain applications running while charging or your battery is on it's way out..
The esteem has a 1500MaH battery and the GNexus has an 1850MaH. Both come with standard 5.1V/.7A chargers. If you are looking to reduce your charging time I recommend finding a charger with a 1.0A output.
Edit: From a power user such as yourself I would expect a bit less "derp" conclusions. Have you dicounted your kernel, rom, background activities? Generally your responses are helpful and moderately well thought-out. Lately it seems like you just hopped on a bandwagon and let it all ride on black. Rooting against red doesn't change your odds
Actually it was a well known and talked about topic that the esteem takes forever to charge. I saw it first hand when i moved from my first 4g phone, the indulge to the esteem. I noticed it immediately as the charge time was way longer. This is stock so all that app and error garbage is irrelevant. As to the cause i really don't care. Once again, something I've known about and don't complain about because it's not an issue for me. It was something that i mentioned. The only reason i mentioned it is because upon charging the gnex last night, it took under an hour where as anyone with an esteem knows it's takes much much longer to charge from near dead. Once again this is all pointless as i have no concerns with any of this so i really don't want to waste energy on discussing it.
The main point is service and it's suddenly went downhill. I'm sure it's nothing, I'm not hating, i just wanted to see if it was elsewhere. Dude i work with has the connect and it's the same story with him, 1x all day when 1x comes up rarely. He just came in so i just found this out.
As for bandwagon, I'm not sure i understand what you mean. I do have a new phone so i do have to switch focus, kinda can't help that. If you're talking about service wise, metro vs tmob then that's because all I've known since smart phones came into the picture is/was metro. I generally don't like to compare things unless i have first hand knowledge and after finally waking up and deciding to move on, I've realized networks have grown substantially in my area and it's time to change.
I am one to be behind on technology i do admit that. I'm a grown man with a job and life responsibilities and one too many hobbies lol so phones haven't been at the top off my list until my recent learnings of development from which development has now become another hobby. So if jumping on a bandwagon is in part to my willingness to put life priorities first then I'm guilty. Can't help that. Haha
I haven't suddenly bad mouthed metro or any of the devices I've used in part to my upcoming departure. This would also come with "jumping on a bandwagon". I wouldn't have been with metro for so long if i didn't like it. Upon seeing what other networks have in my area has caused my outlook to change. I want more and financially i have the funds for a newer phone. You'd think people would be happy that more options have become available for the person. But it seems like everyone gets defensive if you don't agree or want something different. I don't know most these people so i really don't care but it's kinda like pulling the 5th grader card "what i have is better no matter what you have". Lol This is why i stay on the esteem side. I took interest in s3 threads which is why i came over at all. I've been extremely fortunate to have the people and development I've had since February on the esteem side. Something i will be a part of no matter how many phones i have. I'd like to think the work I've done there has helped shape that forum in giving people something to play with. Above all else I've made several friends that i can call and bullshit with about phones or advice. People that could care less if i have metro, tmob, Verizon or nothing at all. People that I've gotten advice from in regards to phone and tmob service which in part has weighed heavily on my decisions.
Things change, companies change, devices change, coverage changes, service changes from which all ultimately leads to people changing. So if that constitutes jumping on a bandwagon, then i guess the wagon is pretty full.
Damn Swype gets annoying.
