I am a HVAC Service Tech. I think a great app, which would also work for any field, would be:

The ability to make a list of customer appointments for the day with their name, phone number, and address. To be able to check them off when you're are done, and to be able to make notes for each customer. The key to this app would be the ability to link it to google maps, so that when you click on the customers address is automatically gives you the route via GPS.

I have this app called "Delivery Droid", it's for pizza delivery drivers. It seems like it does most of what you want. Check out the free version. I might be able to modify it for your needs, and make a new app.
