Help Set alarm for 6:00am, goes off at 5:57

I've had the phone for a little over 24 hours and noticed this morning that my 6am alarm went off at 5:57. My 5am alarm went off at the correct time. Ive deleted and added the alarm multiple times but anytime I set a 6am alarm and turn it on it says it will go off in xx hours and xx minutes that always ends up at 557am.

This is an att GS3. Anyone else see this bug?
 
It's not a bug... you gave a pre-alarm option which goes off 3 minutes before your actual alarm. When setting the alarm make sure you have this off. The option is called Smart Alarm

Cannot believe I didn't see this all day long! Thanks guys for tolerating my stupidity lol.

And yes, when you get up at 5am those extra couple minutes make a big difference!
 
This caught me out too. And what's so "smart" about an alarm that goes off before the time you set? I don't get it. :)

It also seemed to disable the Daily Briefing. Possibly because the early "smart" alarm woke me up and I turned it off before the "real" alarm time. Now that I have the "smart" alarm off, I will find out tomorrow if the Briefing works.

It allows you to set a gentle alarm before your main one, which is apparently a healthier way to wake up.

Sounds like mumbo jumbo to me!!
 
Not sure if this is the place to ask this, but....i've only had my S3 for a week, it was running ICS 4.0.4 out of the box, but I updated it to jelly bean 4.1.1 (via Kies on my laptop) as soon as I got it. It was working fine untill yesterday, but now my briefing alarm announcments don't match the clock time. If I set the alarm to go of at 4:00pm, it will show 4:00pm on the clock on the home screen but the briefing alarm will sometimes say (speak) it's 4:03pm or 4:12pm, not the time that it should say, ie 4:00pm. Anyone know why?
 
After upgrading last week on my Samsung Galaxy S III (via Kies), my daily briefing alarm no longer makes any verbal announcements (just some new age forrest noises) and my email is significantly dimmer. This all happened immediately after my upgrade. I am nervous to see what else is broken!
