Set background of apps list?

Apologies if this is already well known ... I could swear that when I first got the g2, the apps list screens had the same color-swoosh background as the "main" screen(s), or at least some similar hue. As of today that background is white. Ugly... How can I re/set that to something more pleasant?

Welcome to Android Forums.

I don't have your phone.

Are you using the stock launcher? On my Turbo they are the same with the stock launcher and under Nova Launcher Prime I can make them different.

I think I'm using the stock launcher ... unless I accidentally switched to Google Now's. (Is there a good way to check and/or revert?)

Apparently the g2 comes preloaded with the Now launcher, since I can swipe to Now from the initial home screen. Doesn't answer my question though.

Looks like this white monstrosity really is how the Now launcher works
Rumors exist of other color schemes Reaal Soon Now... ok, that brings me back to deciding whether I want to factory reset the phone or if there's a better answer ... or if I just wait for the promised fix

Assuming you installed Google Now Launcher form Play Store ...

I just installed it on my Droid Turbo. There is no way I can find to change the white background. On the Turbo it is painful.

It is not listed in the App Drawer ... I went to Settings | Apps | Google Now Launcher and uninstalled it.

Ok. I may see what happened. If you look at the play store preview images for Now Launcher you'll see it shows All Apps with a black background. Someone with no UX insight has since then changed it to white, and apparently 1) i got saddled with the updateand b) i can't back that out w/o rooting the beast... which I'm not ready to do. Either I go shopping for launchers, or I live with it until we can beat Google into fixing it.

Still happy with the G2, but less delighted than i was.

I highly recommend Nova Launcher Prime. You will be totally happy with it. It solves some problems that used to attract people to root0ing as the only solution. It opens new doors like ...

Toggle the notification bar at the top of the screen off and on.
Hide unwanted pre0installed apps.
Save and restore your configuration.
