Help Set Ringtone

athegn

Android Expert
I am trying to set a ringtone.

Firstly I don't know what ringtone I have; sounds silly but I know its sound but cannot find it anywhere on my HTC Desire 2.2 It is not "Old Phone_2" but some "Donk Donk" type sound.

I look in Home > Menu > Settings > Personalize > Default Ringtone > com.htc.app.HtcRingtonePickerAct and see "Old Phone_2" I press "Old Phone_2" and the sound I want plays. Here I see "Old Phone_2" three times

The same with Home > Menu > Settings > Sound > Phone ringtone > com.htc.app.HtcRingtonePickerAct and see "Old Phone_2" I press "Old Phone_2" and the sound I want plays. Here I also see "Old Phone_2" three times

The file system shows:-

/mnt/sdcard/Music/Old Phone_2.mps
/mnt/sdcard/Media/audio/Ringtones/Old Phone_2.mps
/mnt/sdcard/zedge/Ringtones/Old Phone_2.mps
/mnt/sdcard/Music/Ringtones/Old Phone_2.mps
/mnt/sdcard/MP3 128/Ringtones/Old Phone_2.mps
/mnt/sdcard/MP3 128/Old Phone_2.mps

So its in plenty of storage areas; but not the right one???

I open the stock Music player and all the songs I have under:-

/mnt/sdcard/MP3 128/albums show but NOT:-

/mnt/sdcard/MP3 128/Ringtones/Old Phone_2.mps

so I cannot choose "Old Phone_2" in that player and set as ringtone.

Firstly how can I find out what file is being played as my ringtone if it is not the one shown at:_

Home > Menu > Settings > Personalize > Default Ringtone > com.htc.app.HtcRingtonePickerAct

or

Home > Menu > Settings > Sound > Phone ringtone > com.htc.app.HtcRingtonePickerAct

and secondly how can I make "Old Phone_2" my ringtone.

Note

Home > Menu > Settings > Sound > Notification > com.htc.app.HtcRingtonePickerAct plays my choice of sound stored at:-

/mnt/sdcard/Media/audio/notifications

Any help please?

I have tried amending "Old Phone_2" to "Old_Phone_2" convert space to underscore however that makes no difference.

I now think that no other sound will work. I tried using a factory set sound and still I get the "Donk Donk" ringtone. This "Donk Donk" only started recently so I must have changed someyhing but what?

What could be causing this?
