Google is your home page, Bing is your search engine.. The browser opens to Hoogle. If you put a search term into the address box (where you'd normally type the URL of the site you want), it should use Bing as the search engine. (There's limited real estate on a phone, so the address box is also used as the search box.)
You are a star, this has been bugging me for ages, just tried it and hey presto it works like I treat!
I don't want to start another thread because this next question kind of relates to the stock browser too, and my question is normally when I go to my stock browser and open it goes directly to the homepage that I have set it for, but it doesn't open from the cache it opens up a new fresh page everytime, I know because of the indication bar the goes from left to right whereas if it was opening from cache it would open without refreshing.
When I went to the stock browser just then it opened up with the last page I had viewed instead of the main homepage and I am wondering why.
If I press the back button it just closes, so what I need to do when this happens is go to Menu and tap on open new window, then once that opens which will be the Google Home page I then bring down the window slightly so I can see the little box on the bar that tells me how many pages are open, once I tap on that the windows open small and I can then select which one to close by touching left to right or right to left, and then click on the red - to close that window, then tap on the remaining window to open the homepage then if I click the back button it then closes and will reopen on the homepage the next time I open the browser.
Is there anything I should be doing in order for not to have to do this from time to time? I am sure the phone stock browser used to open from it's homepage cache in the past but not recently.
Sorry for this long winded post but I thought that I needed to mention everything in order for you to know exactly what I am on about.
Any questions on anything please ask.
Thanks again for that first answer though.
