Setting up ringtones

So on my old phone, I was able to set it up to not ring with incoming calls or texts unless it was from a contact with a ringtone set. This resulted in both calls and texts ringing with the contact's specific tone. Is there a way to do this with the mytouch 3g?

I created a folder in my memory card, named it "ringtones" and just dropped all my mp3 ringtones in there. You can assign these to your contacts. Can't do this with messages however. Havent figured that one out yet.
