Root settings for cpu, and memory optimizer???

Ok.. so rooted my d2g yesterday and even before that my battery time is negligible. I got cpu master and autokiller memory optimizer.

I need to know what settings to put them on. And even after I got them, I went to manage applications and under the running tab it has EVERY app on my phone going even after I set them all to be autokilled....

So I went to and got a task killer too.... seems like overkill to me, but what else can I do to make my battery last more than 2 hours? I have only had the phone 2 days...

I am also wondering what is good source for extended battery? And do they really help?

As long as your OS is up to at least Froyo 2.2 then you do not want to use an autokiller, unless you are trying to kill applications that use the network. Froyo is quite efficient at doing task manager/memory manager functions.

Get rid of autokill settings. Bloatware basically restarts after you kill it, if I am not mistaken. Since you are rooted, get titanium backup. It will allow you to freeze or remove the bloatware verizon loaded onto the phone.

I don't have cpu master, I have setcpu.

Can also try juicedefender.

Yeah, ditch the task killer. Complete waste of time and battery power. I don't use a task killer, using a ROM that basically removed most of the bloatware, froze a few other things with Titanium, do a couple other minor things with my phone and I enjoy over 24 hours between charging.

Kevkalsar, which ROM are you using? And what are the other minor things you did on phone... I really need to improve battery life.

You guys are misunderstanding. Autokiller is NOT a task killer like ATK. It merely re-writes the minimum free RAM values that the Android system maintains. You can use it to keep RAM free, but honestly, there's no point. I used it for a few months, then uninstalled it... Guess what? No performance decrease! So Autokiller isn't bad like ATK is.. But it's not necessary or beneficial, either. The only ROM available for the D2G is Fission, or you can flash other D2 ROMs with the ROMer tool made by team GetRDone, which you can find over at droidforums.net.
