Settings window flashes then closes

Hey all

I got the Galaxy s2 with android 2.3 (rooted). I've only noticed recently that I cannot get into my settings. When I click on settings, the window will launch and then close a split second later. I haven't needed to go into settings for quite a while so don't know when it started. I've also installed a lot of apps and uninstalling them one by one testing would be an absolute pain, and I don't know how far I would have to go back either.
This might be connected to the issue of settings closing on selecting battery use as that was the first time I noticed it.

Does anyone have any ideas besides hard resetting which I am dreadfully avoiding?

Just an update in the hopes that someone can still help. I uninstalled a bunch of apps and managed to get into my settings again. Since then, I didn't install any new apps and never went to the battery monitor. Now, it started doing the exact same thing again. Settings window will flash and then kick me to the home screen.

ok, found the culprit (in case someone else runs into this problem). After factory resetting my phone (I just had enough), I was shocked to see the problem still happening. The only app that I had rooted in was Theftaware. I disabled that and everything worked perfectly. Enabled and back to that same problem. Strange how this started when Avast took over them...hmmmmm. Anyway, a bit pissed off as I payed for that app. Anyway, at least I can get to settings now.
