Setup MS Exchange

Tonight while at work, a coworker who is using an iPhone, we've decided to see about setting up the job's email through Exchange so we can receive email on our phones.

Once we figured out the mail server and other info, she was able to receive mail right away. But for me, I keep getting Invalid Credentials error message.

Checking incoming server settings.

Setup could not finish

Login credentials incorrect.
(Server error: Unauthorized)

I've checked and double checked the username and password but it keeps coming up with that error.

Keep in mind, the coworker pretty much typed in same info for her credentials and was able to get mail on her iphone.

What may be causing this problem and any suggestions on fixing it?

Thnx.

I read someone mention he had used the app Touchdown and it was able to access it. So after I downloaded the app, it did give me access to the Exchange account. It seems something about the default email app, a bug I guess, keeps giving me the error.

Touchdown is a 30 day trial and cost $19 to buy. I do not need it that bad. Does anyone know of another app that may work?

Thnx.

I finally figured it out. I had to add extra info to user name, pmry\username, and that got the stock email app to work. I thought I tried it last night but I guess I didn't do it the right way.

It's working with wifi, so I assume it should work using data also!

I'm glad you figured it out and posted your solution here as well, it goes a long way in the future when someone else has an issue and searches the forums for a answer.

When I read your first post my suggestion was going to be make sure that your credentials are correct in all the right places as exchange is notoriously fickle from both the user side and sever side.

Using the Outlook web mail interface we have to use the pmry/username, an alias, but I was thinking putting in the full username which is the firstname.lastname, in different formats.
