Root sg2 epic brick issue

Joachimi

Newbie
I have rooted tons of phones with no issue. I went to root my gfs sg2 epic touch and things didnt go well. I used odin and the root made the phone loop with the yellow triangle. I can access the recover and the download screen but none of the selections are doing anything. The phone also states the phone is know a i900. I researched and found afew fixes.

Problem now is the drivers arent working. The computer does nothing when its attatched, cant find it. Ive downloading every driver I could find related.

If I dont find a fix im going to spend the rest of my life on the couch.

Try to uninstall all the drivers and reinstall the necessary ones from Samsung's website.
And if that doesn't work, restart your PC or try a different cable/usb port.

The yellow triangle is gone. It still says its GT-i9100. The drivers are still not working. It doesnt get stuck at bootloop anymore it just goes straight to recovery screen whennits turned on. Selections still not responsive.

Did you restore it using a recovery for the Epic 4G Touch? Because if you used it for thr international version, that might be the reason.

I have the recovery stuff. But I cant get the drivers to work. Thats my immediate issue and I cannot find any help. The kies drivers as well as the samsujg individual drivers are not finding the phone. I dont if maybe im d o wnloading them and not installing them correctly? Im pretty positive if I can get a connection I can fix it.

Have you tried rebooting the PC before and after you installed the drivers?

Which root method did you use? At work now but I'll be able to actually look into it in a bit :)

I used zedona one click with odin. Gave me the bootloop with yellow triangle. Then I tried to download stock to fix it. Now it thinks it is the i9100 version. I can access both download and recovery and can navigate in recovery but none of the selections do anything. Odin and my computer are not finding the phone at all. I will pay for help!

No go :( im colse to giving up as other then on this site I cannot find any help. Theres two issues I have a question about...
1 Thru out this whole process the batterie has drained. It still always turns on to the 2 screens , but before recovery it shows the battery as drained. Even tho its plugged in it doesnt seem to charge at least according to that picture. Could that effect this process?
2 is it possible that I destroyed the phone driver somehow?
P.s. I have never given up on anything like this ive always figured it out. I dont want this to be my first!

Is this one of those situations where you need to install the drivers, turn off the router, reboot the PC, then connect the device before turning the router on? (Windows is trying to install the wrong drivers automatically)
