SGS 3 network issue

Dear all,

I just got an international SGS 3 version and having trouble with the network. Currently the phone is running on EDGE, which is terrible speed as you all know. The phone supports the 3G frequencies from AT&T and T-MOBILE, however I am still not able to receive 3G network. I tried to enable 3G from the network setting menu but there's only the option saying (network mode: LTE/GSM/WCSMA) where there's no 3G.
I know that LTE would be the best, but my phone and carrier don't have the same LTE frequencies, which means I am not able to use LTE yet.
Could anyone help please?

thanks

What carrier are you trying to use? Are you sure you have the proper SIM card? Are you sure you're in a 3g area? Just because you have a 3g capable phone means you automatically get it. If you're rural, the carriers might no cover you.

That's odd. When you switch to WCDMA only, it should detect ONLY 3G signals, and not even see any 2G signals. When you switched to WCDMA only, what letter appeared beside the signal bars? Did an "H" appear? If it appeared that means you are connected to 3G.

Otherwise there just may be no 3G coverage where you are. :D

When I switch to WCDMA only there's no signal at all .. Where I live there is 4G coverage actually .. When I switch the mode to (LTE/WCDMA/GSM) the phone goes directly to EDGE only the letter E appears

Actually there's .. before buying the SGS 3 I had a blackberry and the 3G coverage was working just fine. Trust me when I tell you this problem is driving me insane. Even called the carrier and they had no clue.

What international version is it, and where did it come from? Because the international Galaxy 3s we get here, that usually come from Hong Kong and Singapore, do not have 850MHz WCDMA, they're GSM/EDGE only on that band.

i9500__-
2G:GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz 3G:WCDMA 2100MHz
...there's no WCDMA 850MHz, as used in the United States.

That what I thought too .. the Device is from HK .. what makes me wonder is that it was mentioned in the website where I bought it from that it has 850 Hz .. That's why am confused.. do you think they have no idea what they're talking about ?
