Root SGS not starting up after root

I just followed this guide:
How To Root XWJVH Android 2.3.3 ROM for Galaxy S i9000 | TheAndroidSoul

Unfortunately my phone did'nt restart, even though the rooting in the software went without any errors.
I just keeps blinking black screen and with the starttext "Galaxy S GT-I9000 Samsung"
I can easily enter the recovery menu?

Have I forgotten anything?
Do I need to clear any cache, or what could be wrong ?

it sounds like u have BRICKED your phone.
did u back up before rooting?

Its not bricked so there's no reason to worry.

If you can get into the download (Vol Down + Home + Power), try flashing a new rom with ODIN and see if that works.

Yeap that did it.

And my phone is back to normal

hey i have the same problem. I tried to upgrade my phone sgs GT i9003 with 2.3.4 from 2.2.1, the upgrade went without any errors. But am unable to reboot my phone. and the 3 button combo is not working ! help me

seems like the only way to fix my samsung galaxy s is by flashing it, im reading the link you posted. Just one thing i dont get it says bootloaders and without bootloaders what does that mean?

You tired power off completly, remobve battery for five mins, volume down+power+home? if thats not working invest in a homemade jig!
