Help SGS2 Crashing / Battery Issues

Dear All

I am in desperate need for assistance.

My trusty S2 just recently decided to crash down.

Two months ago it got wet, and I had some issues with Driving mode popping up and docking mode, but that was easily solved cleaning the mini usb port, and doing a factory reset.

I've been noticing a steady drop in battery performance since then, with Battery Stats monitor, giving me an estimate of 8h of battery life. Before that I could easily coax 12h or more out of the phone.

However, last night I gave the phone a full charge. The battery lasted exactly 3 hours before it crashed, only activity was listening to music via Spotify, in offline mode.

So I did a Factory Reset tonight to see if it a software issue causing the extreme drainage

It managed to do that and I downloaded some basic apps.

However, now, after 1 hour without using the phone at all, it died again on me.

It seems like there is no power going through to the phone itself.

Even when plugged in, it won't turn on now. Which leads me to believe the battery might be the issue.

Took the battery out, but it back, and the phone turned on.

However, during the past week. I would use the phone, and it would inexplicably just hang. Forcing me to do a hard reset. When doing that, the phone would report a massive drop in juice. For example, phone crashed when battery was on 66%, hard reset, turned on, 15%.

Turned the phone off, after two hours, turned it on again, and the phone would say I have 55% left.

Highly unreliable.

Only details I have:
Samsung S2 GT-I9100, unlocked.
Orange Operator.
Jelly Bean 4.1.2
Baseband: I9100XXLS8
Kernel:" 3.0.31-863787 se.infra@SEP-115 #3SMP PREEMPT
Build number: JZO54K.I9100XXMS1

What makes it worse, I live in a city where English is NOT spoken, so going to a shop won't do, as I wouldn't be able to explain to them what is happening.

I really rely on this phone, for staying in touch with my colleagues across the globe.

Thus I really count on your help.

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Try installing Easy Battery Saver and going to Super power saving mode:/ mine is also having problems I think its problems with our batteries

Hi... thanks. I tried that. Not making any difference at all.

I'm really baffled by this.

I ordered a new battery today, so I really hope it's just that. Otherwise, it seems like I might have to upgrade to a new phone sooner than expected, or revert back to my old Nokia symbian phone :o
