Help SGS2 unusable - thinks charging cable is connected every 5s

Sorry to bother you guys again ;)

My SGS2 seems to think that I connect the charging cable every 5s or so. Even when turend off, the screen lights up with the big battery icon (with a spinning circle inside), then it goes black again. A few seconds later the process repeats. It's practically unusable now, because when turned on it vibrates and plays the charging sound all the time.

This happened after I connected the charger at ~70%, then sat at my PC for a while then heard the subtle 'charging complete' sound. Disconnected it, then it started being really difficult.. What I have tested so far is leaving it without the battery in for ~15min. Didn't help.

Any recommendations other that factory reset or send it in for repair? Thanks to all life-savers out there

EDIT: Left it alone for an hour, put in the battery and connected the charger. Then disconnected the charger. Now seems to work fine! Sorry for being a bit hasty in posting here. Thought my phone was dead!

I have exactly the same problem. Actually putting in the charger for a few seconds can sometimes sort out the problem, but the problem often (30% of time?) starts again a few minutes later.

Hoping someone knows the solution.
Thanks,
Andy.

After the problem went away by itself it has not returned for me. If your problem persists I would get a replacement.
