Lurker
I have been searching for a few days and can not find a way to do what i want. It might very well be something simple, but I am new to android, so please bare with me.
I have about 10 gigs of music on my computer, and I would like to put it on my phone's USB storage. However, I am unsure how to make the native music playing app "see" the files on the USB storage. Does anyone know how to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. Please dont comment things such as: google it, search for it, etc. I have and would not be posting if I could easily find it.

You may use Kies, but personally I find it disappointing.

With your phone unplugged, go to menu>settings>wireless & networks>USB Utilities and enable storage mode. Plug your phone in and accept the connection from the window that pops up. (You may need to pull down the notification bar and tap on 'USB connected').

I think there is a third and final prompt and once you accept that, your phone's SD card(s) will show up as removable storage. Copy your music library there. As long as they are compatible files like mp3 or m4a, you phone will see them.

If you used iTunes to organize your files, you can export your playlists to a folder on your sd card called playlists. If it doesn't exist, create it. Export them as m3u and put them into the playlists folder. When you unmount the phone from the PC and turn off USB storage, the phone will scan the media and you should be all set.
