SGTab-10.1 bluetooth tether to computer

I am able to successfully pair using bluetooth and transfer files from my computer to my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT-7510).

What I have not been able to do is to get it connected using bluetooth so that I can use the computer as an Internet connection for the SGTab.

On SGTab under Bluetooth I see the computer as a paired device and it shows "Connected" (Not just "Paired").

On the computer (Linux) in Bluetooth Preferences I see the SGTab device and it shows "Connected".

But when I bring up the SGTab Browser it says "no network connection".

Anybody know what might be wrong here?

I get the same results - no connection and no option in the Tab for tethering under the pairing setting, although there is a tethering option under the other settings. I have a 3G Tab on my shared data plan so I don't really need this feature, but I tried it a long time ago to see what happens. Check this thread about tethering:

Thanks for verifying this bluetooth tethering to computer problem.

I also tried the bluetooth phone tethering like in your link.

Verizon has the route blocked on my Galaxy Nexus. You get a monthly subscription popup.

I have another thread opened about that nonsense.

For this thread I'd like to keep it just about tethering the Galaxy Tab to a Linux computer.
