Shall we begin?

The system dump is the basis of what is needed for the OS to run. It's all the OS info put into one type of condensed file, in this case an update.zip and now that Froyo can officially be applied, we really have no reason to wait for the OTA... Nor for SWUpdater...

Sweet...I'm new to this so I don't exactly understand everything 100%..Just the part about not needing it OTA anymore haha.

omg I just got the text to update!

edit: oh yea, btw, hi to the forums! I normally browse this but never post. anyways. its installing as I type this

Oklahoma (CST)

Edit: It did not make me hard reset the phone. All my info was still there but it did wipe my current Sprint ID. But I won't install another one. My phone was not rooted (stock). Text message screen has changed to white background. lock swipe screen is same. but phone does act a lot smoother.

10:08 EST still nothing. I did talk to a sprint rep this morning just to see what they would say. She knew what she was talking about, which is more than I can say for some other sprint reps I have been reading posts about. Even though I don

update shouldnt be all that smoother(compared to froyo port, but yes smoother than 2.1), its basically the same as the port froyo fr what ive seen so far, quad scores are only at 260 and linpack at around 5.
only difference will be working keyboard and ffc.

If you're not looking for a pared-down version of Froyo, just go to the Sprint Store. I went this afternoon instead of waiting and in 15 minutes I had Froyo without waiting on OTA. BTW, I've found it works MUCH better than 2.1.

wait so the update comes via text message not notification. Because I've seen the update icon on other android devices and it looks nothing like the text message update.

9am EST on 3/23 in South Florida and still no update.

I feel like a kid on x-mas day!!! I cannot wait anay longer to get this....

Any way to invoke the update OTA besides rooting and installing it or going to Sprint store?

8am CST here in Alabama, Still no update either :( My phones been so laggy last two days Makes me want the update already!!!

Subscribed, just bought it today so I'm waiting for the update, wouldn't mind using the front camera I actually got it for.

This might help clear things up... Every big OTA update through Sprint is rolled out over 4 or 5 days. It usually goes like this: The first day 5% of ESN's of the phone being updated will be notified, the second day 25%, the third 50% the fourth 75% and the fifth 100%. The Transform may have skipped the initial 5% since it's only a 4 day span.

It's wierd that you guys haven't recieved the update yet. This phone is much better than before after the update. Angry Birds still has graphical glitches though and the Android Market seems to switch back and forth between the old version and the new version. Still no Stupid Zombies :-(

Did anything get "broken" due to the release? Are you having any new problems? Given the prior issues with Sprint/Samsung's releases, I was thinking I would wait on this update to see how it's been for others... but with the agonizing wait I'd rather not do that!

(of course, anybody with the update, feel free to comment)

I have not experienced any issues with it besides what was previously mentioned. The camera has a big facelift with more options. Haven't tried video chat yet. If I was more android savvy then I would be able to tell you more like performance spec/etc that this forum normally does. But I can tell you that its been smoooth sailing since last night ;)
