Unfortunately, no Root for the ZMax but it has very little bloatware and with a little creativity, you can get good results when customizing your UI.

Not including the Weather app (HD Widgets) which I've had for a few years and I think was free on the PS, I spent .99 cents on each of the two Icon packs and the base version of Nova Launcher was also free.

If you like weather apps, I highly recommend 1Weather. Good looking and a ton of information once you open it from the widget.
