Help Sharing internet, PC to Android

Lurker
Hi,

I want to share my internet with my phone through my computer's wifi adapter. PC - Windows 8.1 Pro x64 (10 shortly of course), Phone - Android Lollipop 5.0.2

Computer, Command Prompt (Admin):
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=phonet key=Password (not literally of course)
netsh wlan start hostednetwork

See screenshot attached.

When I enter the wifi credentials on the Phone, it gets stuck on the "Connecting..."-stage. I'm not sure if I need to configure any IP-addresses, be it on the phone or the network I'm connecting to..
Has anyone gotten this to work?

Background: At home I just have an ethernet connection to my laptop and I want to be able to use internet on my phone as well.

Sharing networking using Windows, only creates an ad-hoc network, your phone may not be able to connect to ad-hoc mode WiFi, other PCs usually no problem. The phone can probably only use infrastructure mode WiFi, i.e. using a WiFi router. You might have to get yourself a WiFi router and plug the ethernet connection into that.
